Conscious of the need for clean energy sources and as part of its initiatives to preserve environment and promote green energy the group started commissioning windmills in the year 1993 at Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and Ramanathapuram Districts. The division has so far installed 84 windmills. The details of windmills, their production capacity and place of location are given below. All the windmills put together generate around 500 million units/ year and total electricity generated by these windmills is sold to Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).
